					<title>Rehearsals</title>
					<link>http://ryanmarshallmusic.com/blog.cfm?feature=888315&amp;postid=996743</link>
<description>So we&apos;ve been working on an alternative style of performance, I&apos;m not really an acoustic guitar player, electric is where it&apos;s at for me and that normally means power blues &amp;amp; Soul LOUD. not always appropriate especially for those intimate gigs.

So we&apos;ve been working on performing our tunes in a different manner; chilled. So the electric guitars going no where, but the drumkits gone and in&amp;nbsp; it&apos;s place is the trusty old acoustic act favourite the &apos;Cajon&apos; although this time played in an appropriate fashion. oh yeah.

looking forward to it, it&apos;s sounding good, &amp;amp; coming soon to a venue near you.

					<link>http://ryanmarshallmusic.com/blog.cfm?feature=888315&amp;postid=764237</link>
					<description>&amp;nbsp;Hey,

Just a few words to catch up.

Things haven&apos;t been too busy round here recently, But I&apos;ve been suffering with a long term sore throat, since around christmas time, including losing my voice at the Christmas recording sessions.....hence the delay in new vids/recordings, I&apos;m gonna have to overdub some vocal parts, not the point of a live band session but hey.

Theres a new video from last week @ The Bedford on the video page

Even performing a few bit parts in songs left me with a rough voice the next day.

Fingers crossed things are improving.

see you all soon

					<title>Dr Z amps.</title>
					<link>http://ryanmarshallmusic.com/blog.cfm?feature=888315&amp;postid=629452</link>
<description>&amp;nbsp; Here&apos;s a post for all you guitar players, this is &amp;nbsp;clip from &apos;Tomorrow&apos; from our new record &apos; This Time Around&apos; its the first recorded guitar tone I am truly happy with, It&apos;s a combination of my favourite guitar with my favourite Z amps.

So the setup sounds good....... I just need to capture it. In comes the mighty Royer R121 ribbon mic, this mic seems to be able to capture the way a guitar/amp sounds without having to resort to EQ/compression etc. Love it.

Guitars track setups:

Strat rhythm guitar: Strat spilt into two amps with a lehle dual: 1 into a Dr Z Carmen Ghia head/Dr Z 210 cab mic&apos;d with a Royer R121 a little bit of a sennheiser 421 and a coles 4038 as a room mic. I also had my Dr Z Jaz head/Dr Z 112 (vintage 30) cab on just feeding the room mic.

335 rhythm gtr: 335 into the Ghia/112 (vintage 30) cab recorded with a coles 4038 a bit of the R121 mixed in and the 4038 room mic. This track features the Jaz&apos;s awesome Trem.

Lead Gtr: This track for me is my tone captured. My Strat into an xotic BB preamp pedal into the Ghia Head/210 cab mic&apos;d with the Royer 121 with a bit of 421 and 4038 mixed in + the coles 4038 room mic. awesome.

No compression, small amount of mix eq. thats it pure DR Z amp tone.

have a listen, let us know what you think. and check out these&amp;nbsp;&lt;a target=&quot;_new&quot; href=&quot;http://www.drzamps.com&quot;&gt;amps.

Track listing will be as follows:

1. Out Of My Hands
2. This Time Around
3. Tears Could Speak
4. Tomorrow
5. Blue Skies

So when can you expect a listen.

Tracks will be available for download from www.ryanandjem.com next week, itunes will take slightly longer will keep you posted. and CD&apos;s are a couple of weeks away.

Hope you&apos;re looking forward to it.

See you soon.

<description>Had an awesome session @ Miloco studios yesterday, completed guitar tracking for the next batch of tunes, Jem spent the day filming, Umil took very naturally to sitting in a producers chair and not doing much, and dave just couldn&apos;t stop smiling, could have something to do with the ampeg 8x10 bass tone and Luke &apos;Legend&apos; Rao has definately found his calling sat behind a vintage Neve console. Stay posted for pics and videos of the session.

					<link>http://ryanmarshallmusic.com/blog.cfm?feature=888315&amp;postid=94379</link>
<description>Recieved my New Dr Z Jaz 20/40 today, and it&apos;s been worth the wait. Custom colours, i&apos;m naming it the &apos;Sin City&apos; amp. This is the amp thats making me sell my Fender Custom Shop it does fender better than fender. Planning to use this amp on it&apos;s own and as The A side (Clean side) of my amp rig &amp;nbsp;when the gig allows it and my back alows me, with the Carmen Ghia handling the B (dirty side) of course the dual A+B channel is going to be a heavily used option, ultimate tone heaven.

Expect to hear this amp on a track or two soon.</description>

					<description>Thanks to all of you who showed up to the Trinity on Friday, if you didn&apos;t well you missed &amp;nbsp;the first outing of &apos;the band&apos; and will have to wait for the next one.&amp;nbsp;

It was cool playing with a 9 piece band. especially on the John Mayer cover &apos;I&apos;m gonna find another you&apos;. Jemma enjoyed the gig far to much and was very excited to sign our first CD&apos;s.

See you again at the next one, or see you at the next one.
